Planning a wedding is a challenging task that can be even harder when you’re trying to do it sustainably. Our advice, if there's one thing you can do to make your wedding planning as effortless as possible, it's booking great suppliers. From photographers to caterers, florists and of course the perfect wedding dress, when you get the right people on board, prepping for your big day seems a lot less daunting.
Whether you have some suppliers sorted already or you're at the beginning of your wedding planning journey, this list of sustainable wedding suppliers has been handpicked and some even personally used by Francesca for her wedding day.
Florist - Carol’s Garden
Carol’s Garden is a characterful and individual flower farm based just around the corner from Francesca in Cheshire. What sets them apart from other florists is their use of home grown garden and wild flowers rather than the usual florist imports. Carol’s Garden supplied the flowers for Francesca’s wedding and she only found out what the arrangements or flowers used looked like on the day. An element of surprise that she found so exciting.
Dress and suit - Rock My Wedding
Wedding dresses and suits shouldn’t have to cost the earth. Of course you want to feel confident and comfortable, but you do only wear the garments for one day. So, if you’re considering a second-hand look, Rock My Wedding have dedicated part of their website to beautiful recycled wedding dresses, suits and accessories from couples who have tied the knot and are ready to pass on the love.
Dress - Love Bridal, Cheshire
There’s also nothing wrong with purchasing a wedding dress to keep and cherish forever. For ‘something new’, Love Bridal, a little gem situated in Altrincham, near Manchester has a wonderful selection of refreshing, beautiful bridal gowns and accessories for those on the hunt for something a little more unusual.
Photographer - Chelsea Cannar
Chelsea Cannar is an award winning wedding photographer from the Lake District. She has actually shot some ANUKA pieces in the past and has since gone on to shoot Francesca’s wedding, so we cannot recommend her enough. Her style is just perfectly intimate - documenting everything from the giggles, all the tears and everything in-between.
Accessories - ANUKA & Hurr Collective
Because it’s all about the finishing touches. Of course, the dress and ring are going to be the star of the show, but what’s an outfit without accessories? ANUKA’s ethically-sourced, hand crafted jewellery is ideal for adding a touch of elegance without taking away from the dress. Or, if you’re wanting to rent your accessories, head to Hurr where you’ll find an array of designer accessories to level up your look.
Cake - Love From Louisa
For a show-stopping centrepiece, Love From Louisa is a must for your wedding cake. With sustainability at the heart of the bakes, they ensure to source from local suppliers with high animal welfare standards and use organic produce to create the incredible designs. They have developed seasonal wedding cake menus that use the ingredients seasonal to that time of year and aim to be carbon neutral (or carbon negative) by the end of 2021, so you can enjoy the cake guilt free!
Venue - Scarlett Hall
Scarlett Hall is a beautiful wedding venue set on a 12-acre estate in Cheshire and the venue of Francesca’s summer wedding. The grade-II listed country manor is the perfect backdrop to the perfect day, with the option to hold the ceremony inside or outside depending on your preferences.
