What is your brand ethos?

Spruce refillable cleaning is on a mission to revolutionise ethical homecare with innovative products that are plastic-free, non-toxic, and vegan. Switching to minimalist cleaning with Spruce is a hassle-free way for conscious consumers to lower their household plastic and carbon footprint as well as indoor air pollution. Essentially, we want to make it super easy for people to choose eco-friendly products that are good for them and for the planet. And they look stylish too, so our customers don’t have to sacrifice style and functionality.

Why was it important for you to have the B Corp certification?

We have been living the B Corp ethos way before we even applied for the certification as we always wanted to be a business that drives change. But it was incredibly important for us to receive the B Corp certification so that our customers also know that we are really walking the walk. It is all well and good for us to say that we are doing xy&z, but the B Corp certification allows us to have concrete evidence to support. And the B Corp community is such a supportive and a collaborative network that works together to support small brands and drive real change. If you want to read more about our journey to B Corp, you can read it here.

Do you have any tips for a brand wanting to become B Corp certified?

Be patient, it’s worth it. The process to B Corp can be a very long and demanding one, especially for smaller companies who may not have the manpower to get it done quickly. But once you have it, it is such a rewarding experience for the whole team!

We would love to hear your Jewellery cleaning tips?

Ooh, this is a hard one. I would say using baking soda to polish your silver. Dampen a cloth and rub into the baking soda. Gently buff your silver gently, rinse, and then dry!

What cleaning product can you not live without?

I’m a bit biassed, but Spruce multipurpose! I use it everywhere around the house, for everyday cleaning, mirror, stainless steel and even dilute our refills for floor cleaning. It’s scented with geranium essential oils, it smells so good I cannot get enough of it.

Any tips on keeping your WFH space clean and organised?

I think my best tip (and the one I use less often) is to make sure you put everything away. Living in a smallish space in London it is so important for everything to have a dedicated space and this also helps to switch off and make sure you relax after work. And make sure to dust! I don’t know whether it’s just my house, but if I don’t keep on top of dusting it gets bad so quickly.

What’s next for Spruce?

We have so many new products rolling out this year, which is very exciting! We will finally be expanding our core range which are our Multipurpose cleaner and Bathroom cleaner. So keep an eye on our website and socials for some more quality eco-friendly bits for your home.

Lastly, Fairmined gold or recycled silver?

Always been a silver girl! Although I am also a bit controversial and like to mix both.
