TRANSPARENCY

At ANUKA we are working towards complete transparency. We want you as our customer to know exactly where your jewellery started its journey, from design to your front door.

Our commitment to you is to support ethical mining practices and incorporate Fairmined and recycled precious metals into all of our jewellery. This means we support: NO child labour, NO unfair pay to miners and NO harm to the environment.

Every piece of jewellery is hand crafted in Britain, assuring you of its quality and giving you confidence it was responsibly sourced and made.

STEP ONE : Ethically sourcing our precious metals.

We are Fairmined Licencee holders. This means we are committed to sourcing precious metals from empowered responsible artisanal and small-scale mining organisations who meet world leading standards for responsible practices. To find out more about Fairmined click here.

We use responsibly sourced recycled silver for our main collections, re-using silver above ground assuring no waste.

Our gold comes from registered Fairmined Suppliers, and they source from the following mines:

IQUIRA, COLOMBIA

Located in Colombia’s famous coffee region, the miners alternate seasonally between artisanal gold mining and coffee cultivation.

Iquira achieved Fairmined Certification in August 2014, driven by the motivation to obtain international recognition for being an exemplary small-scale mining organization in Colombia, complying with all mining regulations and being socially committed.

Characterized by a strong sense of unity and loving spirit, the Iquira cooperative has become even more conscious of mining’s potential impacts on their community through the Fairmined workshops and training. “We don’t want our families, our neighbors and their children to be harmed by contamination,” said the General Manager.

AURELSA, PERU

Aurelsa was one of the first small-scale mines in the world to produce gold certified and marketed as “ethical” as part of a scheme aimed at reducing the harmful impact of illegal mining in mineral-rich developing countries.

We also incorporate Fairtrade and recycled precious metals into our jewellery as part of our sustainability ethos.
